Bow down overdweller (under the weight) (3 times)
    • Wrought from the rock that stands upon old
With the heart of black and a stare that’s cold
Cold are the hands that grasp at your soul
‘Fore the graves are dug and the death knells toll.
Tempered in the flows of the mountain’s core
where the rage runs red twixt shore and shore
Short from the world ‘neath the blazing sun
Bound to the dark, for the light I shun
    • Bow down overdweller (under the weight) (3 times)
Bow down overdweller (in hell I wait)
Bow down overdweller (under the weight) (3 times)
    • Into the dark of an endless night
Where the pulse of the land offers no respite
In spite of the blood that was spilled before
You whet your blades, you thirst for more
Now kneel overdweller, your lord commands
There’s no salvation for the sons of man
The skies will tremble and the earth will quake
From the crumbling walls no one escapes
    • Bow down overdweller (under the weight) (3 times)
Bow down overdweller (in hell I wait)
    • Bow down overdweller (under the weight) (3 times)
Bow down overdweller (in hell I wait)
    • Bow down overdweller,
      Bow down overdweller,
Bow down overdweller, Titan! (3 times)
      Bow down overdweller,

Bow down overdweller (under the weight) (3 times)
    • Repeat from: Wrought from the rock that stands upon old….

Garuda

  • Fallen Angel:
    • (nevermind the “Ahhh” part at the beginning *lol*)
      NOW FALL…
    • Falling too far from the light
      Deeper into the night
Lost here inside my own hell
      I am a broken angel

Good King Moggle Mog XII

  • Good King Moggle Mog XII:
    • Good King Moggle Mog
      Good King Mog
Lord of all the land! (Kupo)
      Good King Moggle Mog
      Good King Mog
      Rules with iron hand!
      Good King Moggle Mog
      Good King Mog
      Leads the brave and true!
      Good King Moggle Mog
      Good King Mog
Now come along and meet his trusty crew! Kupo!
    • Kupta Kapa will clip your tuft
Split your hairs and ruffle your fluff
Kupdi Koop will throw you for a loop
Brave a wall of whiskers to find his troupe
Kupli Kipp is sly yet sweet
He’ll tickle your nose then tickle your feet
Jolly Kogi’s eye for fun is clear
He’ll put an arrow straight in your rear!
    • Pukla Puki plays with fire
      Poms a-burning on her pyre
Puksi Piko likes her buddies big
To sing a little song and dance a little jig
      Pukna Pako shivers and shakes
She’ll stick you in the gut and give you bellyaches
And who’s behind them, standing tall?
Why, the biggest moogle of them all!
    • Who? Who? Whoever could it be?!
    • Good King Moggle Mog
      Good King Mog
Kind and noble lord! (hear! hear!)
Nod your noggle nog and mind your gob
Or he’ll put you to the sword!
      Good King Moggle Mog
      Good King Mog
      His judgment you will dread!
      Good King Moggle Mog
      Good King Mog
    • What do you decree? (3 times)
      Off with their heads!

Ultima

  • Ultima: not a “real” primal (although this song is in the section for primals on CD while Odin isn’t) but awesome music, sadly can’t find lyrics and they aren’t on any CD 😦 so I think it sounds somewhat Latin which I never studied except half a year in school so no clue what it says or so

Odin

  • The Corpse Hall: not a “real” primal and no song to be sung here sadly 😀 would’ve been epic though

Leviathan

  • Wreck To The Seaman: no vocals
  • Through theMaelstrom:
    • Leviathan Leviathan Endless!
      Leviathan Leviathan Send us!
      Leviathan Leviathan Breathless!
      Leviathan Leviathan Deathless!
      Leviathan Leviathan Restless!
      Leviathan Leviathan Test us!
      Leviathan Leviathan Tend us!
      Leviathan Mend Us
    • Drifting in the realm beyond all knowing
      Forsaken,shedding tears of glass
Now tumbling from the boundless heavens, taken
      White moondrops, burning indigo
    • Leviathan Leviathan Endless!
      Leviathan Leviathan Send us!
      Leviathan Leviathan Breathless!
      Leviathan Leviathan Deathless!
      Leviathan Leviathan Restless!
      Leviathan Leviathan Test us!
      Leviathan Leviathan Tend us!
      Leviathan Leviathan Rend us!
      Leviathan Leviathan Vengeance!
      Leviathan Leviathan Penance!
      Leviathan Leviathan Send us!
      Leviathan End us
    • Silence from the knife that softly severs
      Mistaken for an unsung prayer
Now rising from the soundless Deep. Awaken
      White fury, blinding indigo
    • Swell ye seas of old, Leviathan Leviathan
      Surging tides grow bold, Leviathan
      Seething currents whorl, Leviathan Leviathan
To swallow up the world, Leviathan
      (2 times)

Ramuh

  • Thunder Rolls:
    • Ula menida tula oh
      Tela omnida tula ei
      Ona ramuhda deme os
      Nola tulama tela ei
    • Soul without a name, heed my call
Sin doth stain the hearts of us all
The worm hath burrowed deep and hath grown
Soon he too shallreap what is sown
    • Step in from the storm, praise its mercy
Let the sting of the rain ne’er stray far from thee
      Lightning bright, thunder bold
      Freeing us forevermore
    • Soul fallen from grace, ware thee well
Judgment thou must face, thine own hell
The worm stirreth within, black as night
Breeding deeper sin, foul its blight
    • Soul, thine end is nigh. Take mine hand
All life must return to the land
      Lingered hath the worm, overlong
Purge thy flesh of fear and be strong
    • Step in from the storm, praise its mercy
Let the sting of the rain ne’er stray far from thee
      Lightning bright, thunder bold
      Freeing us forevermore
    • Now lift thine heavy head and vanquish thy sorrow
      Lightning doth strike
      Thunder doth roll
Now turn thy gaze ahead and look to the morrow
      Lightning shall strike
      Thunder shall…. roll on

Shiva

  • Footsteps in the Snow: background vocals but nothing clear
  • Oblivion:
    • Staring at death, I take a breath, there’s nothing left
Now close my eyes, for one last time, and say goodbye
Lying naked while the snow falls all around me
Drifting closer to the edge but She won’t have me
    • Wake up in sweat, full of regret, try to forget
These memories, lurking beneath, lost in a dream
    • Unchosen paths, a broken past, forespoken wrath
The pain won’t cease, I’ll find no peace, no sweet release
Fragile creatures, we are taught to fear the Reaper
Ever running, we are dead before we meet Her
    • These voices telling me let it go (let it all go)
I try and try but I can’t say no (try and say no)
This endless nightmare has just begun (nowhere to run)
My heart is dragging me down into
      Oblivion
    • The endless lies, I’ve cast aside, locked them in ice
Steeled is my soul, my blood grown cold, I’ve gained control
Fearless creatures, we all learn to fight the Reaper
Can’t defeat her, so instead I’ll have to be Her
    • These voices screaming to let it go (never let go)
This time I’m screaming back no no no (go on say no)
My mind’s made up, yeah my fear is gone (Where have you gone?)
open my eyes now here I come
      Oblivion
    • For the last time
      I won’t say goodbye (3 times)
      For the last time

Heavensward Primals

Ravana

  • The Hand That Gives the Rose: background vocals only
  • Unbending Steel:
    • High, on High I stand
      Gazing down to see
      The endless garden
      Awaiting me
    • Red bloometh the rose of conviction
And red bloometh the rose of hate
Yes, red bloometh the rose of contest
      Firmly bound to its fate
    • And the war, it wageth on
      The storm, it rageth on
      The bold ever fight on
Their lives echoed in song (Hah!)
    • Fall, like snow they fall
      Pedals plucked and strewn
      Yet from their seeds grow
      This war anew
    • Blood trickling down from my fullers
And blood trickling down from mine hands
Yes, blood trickling down to Hydaelyn
      Until I alone stand
    • And the war, still wageth on
      The storm, still rageth on
      The bold blindly march on
Their lives, lost in a song

  • Fiend:
    • What is it like when you pull back the curtain
And realize every wrong is a right?
Your world is rusted like a dirty razor
      The edge is calling tonight
    • The edge is calling tonight – The edge is calling tonight (2 times)
The sun is setting, darkness taking over
A date with chaos and you’re dressed to the nines
    • Salt of the earth salting your own fields
Road to destruction that is true and tried
You walk the path laid before you
The call of reason, you refuse to abide
      Necessity is an inventive mother
Promising sanctum that She cannot provide
She is the hand that rocks the cradle
The wind that breaks the bough and leaves you to die
    • And there She leaves you to die – And there She leaves you to die (2 times)
You’ll find slumber when the world comes tumbling down
      Sweet dreams, baby, sleep tight!
    • Retreat where lesser men lead
Flee from what you do not see
Heed the dark within your being
      Turn away, disobey
I’m the end and the beginning
The faith that feeds the unbelieving
A tightening knot to staunch the bleeding
Say my name, Say my name:
      Sephirot!
    • The seventh hell’s become your seventh heaven
Rose of redemption but a thorn in your pride
Waste no more time fighting your demons
Lay down your arms and let the evil inside
    • And then you let it inside – And then you let it inside (2 times)
You let it eat you till there’s nothing left at all
So you can feel that you are truly alive
    • Better to survive in a waking nightmare
      Than rule in their paradise
      What is gold, always glitters
But it still comes with an unpayable price
Treading out upon the stagnant waters
Our savior waiting for a turn in the tide
You are the night at the end of the tunnel
The empty void where the serpent lies
    • Where the serpent lies – Where the serpent lies (2 times)
The angels graze in the meadows of excess
They must needs go that the devils drive
    • Retreat where lesser men lead
Flee from what you do not see
Concede your mind unto the fiend
      Turn away, debts are paid
I’m the end and the beginning
The drug that gives the wretched meaning
The answer every soul is seeking
Say my name, Say my name:
      Sephirot!

  • Battle to the Death – Heavensward: no vocals

    • The sigh of the shifting sea
The kiss of the salt-sweet breeze
The white of her silken dress stained in red
      A memory fading fast,
      Her mother sits, eyes downcast
A torn uniform in hand, farewells unsaid
    • That once a certainty, lost in grief
A daughter’s desperate cries, unheard pleas
Forsaken, beaten, tried, on her knees
A prayer passes from her lips
Into her soul the Goddess whispers:
    • A heartbeat without harmony
      Is moonlight without dark
      The heart seeketh equilibrium
With balance will your worry part,
      So still this broken melody
      And therewith shoulder thee
      One last step only leaving
    • An empty hearth down by the sea (2 times)

      Behold as our burdens
      Come soft with the sun
    • Tonight
Step from the dark to the light
      Tonight
    • Rise high
      High above our rivals
      Spread our wings
      Spread them wide
      Let them fly
    • Keep high
      Free to ever slumber
      Open the door
      Close our eyes
      We are the dreamers
    • Fire
Born of the flames of desire
      This fire
    • Give in to the hunger (2 times)
      Cast off inhibition
      Let passion run wild
    • Desire
      For the unquenchable fire
      Desire

      High above your rivals
      Spread yours wings
      Spread them wide
      You needn’t hide
    • Keep high
      Free to ever slumber
      Open the door
      Close your eyes
      You are the dreamer

Holiday, Day 9

…AKA the day I got damn confused and took a real large detour but still made it in time *lol*.

I woke up at 4AM due to a truck honking in front of the hotel (it’s located on a huge street but I can’t hear it except some motorcycles are going too fast or if someone is honking like a maniac)… I was wide awake but turned around anyways. At ~7:30AM it started to get loud on the floor as some people returned to their rooms or left the hotel – I really couldn’t figure out which it was but tried to ignore them. My alarm went off at 9AM.

I got ready to leave and left the hotel at 9:20AM in direction to Akihabara.
I made a mistake: I thought the Chuo Sobu went directly to Akihabara, instead it goes from my station to Tokyo or the airport and I would need to switch line x.x ofcourse that’s not comfortable, especially not in rush hour… so I tried to get out, ofcourse the gates refused me due to logging in on the same station. I asked the staff to cancel, they sent me one floor upstairs to do so. At the gate upstairs the guys did cancel the card after they were confused why I didn’t take the long tour with JR train through Tokyo but they were really nice (and I might have looked like a lost puppy too – which helped).
But following this I didn’t jump on the Shinjuku line but took the Asakusa line instead -_- which led to another mistake as the one I jumped on was a limited express not on every station of the line – meaning: we jumped the station I would’ve switched lines… and I got off at the following station, taking the Ginza line to Ginza and switching to the Hibiya line (which I would’ve taken from Ningyochou if the train would’ve stopped there) until Akihabara.
I’m glad I left so early because I finally ended up in Akihabara at 10:05AM – still one hour and 20 minutes early but I could’ve made it even earlier with just taking the Shinjuku line for 1 station and walking *lol* anyway: interesting trip in rush hour!

I went to check where the café is located and found it immediately but was sent away as waiting there for an hour is not an option.
Instead I went to check if Kotobukiya would be open already – lucky me: it was!
So I bought some things (well, I went there for one item I owe to a friend as her wedding present but because I’m a huge fan of Tales of as well I bought some additional stuff too 😀  and think to return tomorrow after I went through my whole shopping tour) and checked for the availability of Wifi and played Pokémon GO until the Wifi strength depleted while I walked around 😀
I returned to the café’s place and checked out the souvenir corner, sat around a bit while playing Pokémon GO and got upstairs to the café, showed my ticket and was asked to wait 5 minutes until the official opening would begin.
I was first in line! Woooh!
I was given a tablet for ordering drinks and food, a ticket that showed my seat number and a collectable card which I could choose (ofcourse I chose the class I play ingame as well: Dragoon) – then I was asked to wait in front of the café door until they would let people in.
When they opened the door I was led to my seat which was directly at the bar *___* I could watch the guy mix all of the delicious drinks ❤
Next to me were sitting only two other people. I spoke to the Japanese woman next to me and figured she is playing the game as well as the dude next to her 😀 Fun!
The café staff held a short lottery (Gold Saucer style) and called out 3 seat numbers – the lady next to me got lucky to win first price 😀 (yes I was a bit sad it wasn’t me T_T but well~ it’s an experience in itself to be there as the only non-Japanese, haha)
There was also this poster at the table in front of me – I put it inot my bag after I saw that the other people did that aswell 😀 It’s a cool Halloween-themed one (actually I think it is the picture they used for the ingame Halloween event).

I couldn’t figure how to order food as the dude who gave me the tablet only explained how to order drinks – so I asked the woman next to me and she showed me how to get into the food menu 😀 (swipe to the left from the picture that says “Drinks” >.<
Ordering itself is quite easy, although the English explanation is really small and can’t be zoomed in. It helps to check up online about the possible menu although the FFXIV wiki does show an old menu – most of the mentioned things weren’t on the menu I saw today (might be also as these pictures and descriptions were made pre-Heavensward – e.g. I had an Ishgard-themed ice cream as the 3 alliance one wasn’t available) – plus that was the only shop I saw since Halloween that still sells Halloween-themed food 😀 (well the whole store was still decorated with Pumpkins etc too)

I had 2 drinks (Dragoon-themed and Leviathan-themed), one soup (coconut milk, potato, onion, carrot, broccoli) and one ice cream (vanilla ice, frozen berries, chocolate thing with Ishgard emblem). That gave me 4 collectable cards (one per ordered drink or food): Summoner, Blacksmith, Black Mage and Bahamut.
Shortly before I was about to leave the dude who sat next to the woman next to me came to me and gave me his double cards: Black Mage and Botanist.

In total I received 7 cards today *___* hooray! Lucky!
I went outside to pay (2830 Yen) and felt soooo stuffed~ super yummy food and drinks!

After that awesome experience and addictive vibe I checked out the Akiba Show Room

and went to Yodobashi Akiba’s 6th floor to draw some Gashapons 😀 (this time I didn’t spent as much as 2 years ago 😛 ) It was really quiet there – I only know this from late afternoons or weekends when it’s really crowded there so it might be better to go there in the morning or shortly before noon when you want to scout through the gashapon containers.
I spent my last few 100-Yen-coins (2200 Yen) and left for the hotel with my last 513 Yen I could’ve spent today 😛 (not in total, still got some Yen left for tomorrow’s shopping tour)

I’m so happy~ this day started to be really crap but turned out wonderful~

FFXIV Patch Notes 3.35

Lodestone is down due to maintenance. However there’s a way to read the Patch Notes.

[2.0][3.0] Deep Dungeon – Palace of the Dead has been added.

The Palace of the Dead is an ever-changing dungeon whose architecture is never quite the same each time players enter to explore its depths. All players will begin at level one, and only by fighting the enemies within will they be able to gain the strength and experience needed to reach the final floor. For those stout-hearted adventurers who have decided to take the plunge: be sure to ready your aetherpool armor and arms because in this spectral labyrinth, it may be your only hope of making it out in one piece.

Players who choose to leave and return later can continue playing from where they last saved. We challenge all who enter to make it to the last floor!

The House That Death Built Disciple of War or Magic level 17
New Gridania (X:12.0 Y:13.1)
NPC: Nojiro Marujiro
Players must first complete the main scenario quest “Into a Copper Hell.”

Rules
The Palace of the Dead employs a set of rules unique to the deep dungeon.

Character Growth
Players will start at level 1 regardless of their current class or job level. By defeating monsters that appear in the dungeon, players will be able to gain EXP and level their characters up to 60. The levels gained in progression of the dungeon, however, will not be the same as what players will receive upon clearing. (See Below)
* Players currently on their free trial or who have not yet purchased FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward will also be able to level their characters to 60 inside the Palace of the Dead.
Dungeon EXP
All enemies players encounter in the Palace of the Dead will give a fixed amount of EXP regardless of the number of members in your party or the difference in level between you and the enemy. Rested experience and experience bonuses will also be ignored.
* Attribute points will not be accounted for in the Palace of the Dead.
Actions
There will be no adjustments to or restrictions on any actions, additional actions, or statuses. However, players must first reach the required level in the dungeon to have access to them. Players will even have the opportunity to gain actions and statuses above their current level regardless of whether or not they have completed the necessary class or job quests.
* Please note that players who have entered the deep dungeon with a class will be restricted from using any job actions.
Aetherpool Gear
Players will be restricted to the use of an aetherpool arm and aetherpool armor when inside the Palace of the Dead. In addition to gaining levels, players must enhance these items as they progress through the dungeon. Note that aetherpool armor will take the appearance of your current gear upon entering the instance.
* Normal gear has no effect on your character’s attributes inside the Palace of the Dead.
Strengthening Aetherpool Gear
Aetherpool gear can be enhanced by accessing silver coffers. These coffers appear randomly on each floor and after defeating certain enemies. When enhancing gear, there is a chance of failure that varies depending on the current level of your gear and the floor where the silver coffer is found. Aetherpool gear can be enhanced to a maximum strength of +30. In the event the strength of your aetherpool gear exceeds the maximum allowed by your current level, its attributes will be synced.
Gear Durability and Spiritbonding
Aetherpool gear is not subject to durability loss, nor can it gain spiritbond when inside the Palace of the Dead.
* This also applies to any gear equipped upon entering the instance.
Pomander
Players will, on occasion, obtain pomanders from treasure chests within the Palace of the Dead. These items have various uses ranging from displaying the entire map of your current floor, to providing party members with beneficial effects. Up to three of each pomander can be held at any time. These items can be found in a shared inventory to be used by all party members.
* Normal items such as potions can still be used independently of this shared inventory.
Pomanders cannot be taken outside of the Palace of the Dead. When in a matched party, they cannot be used after the completion of a set of floors. Pomanders that affect the map cannot be overwritten with the same item when their effect is already in play. Please note, however, that they will still be consumed upon use.

Certain pomanders can be used to transform the player into an enemy NPC. The effect lasts for one minute, and will grant the user a different attack for the duration.

Recording Progress
Boss enemies will appear every 10 floors. Upon defeating them, players will be able to record their progress, at which time they may choose to leave the deep dungeon. Please note that progress made in strengthening aetherpool arms and armor is saved independently and shared across all save data. See below for more details regarding the management of save data.
* Save data will not be updated in the event you log out or lose connection before defeating the boss and recording your progress.
Entering the Palace of the Dead
Players can enter the Palace of the Dead by speaking with the Wood Wailer expeditionary in the South Shroud at Quarrymill (X:25.2 Y:20.6). When entering as a party, only the party leader can start the instance.
Fixed Party
Players may enter with a group of up to four players, with no restrictions to classes, jobs, or roles.

Entering as a Fixed Party
After speaking with the Wood Wailer expeditionary, select “Enter the Palace of the Dead,” then choose an unused save slot. Next, select “Enter with a fixed party.” All future forays into the Palace of the Dead must be done with the party members and party composition chosen upon registering.
Party Composition
When creating a fixed party, players are free to choose any combination of jobs and classes they desire.
Save Data
Your character’s level, aetherpool arm and armor strength, inventory, and floor progression will be recorded.
Resuming Play
Players in a fixed party must have uniform save data. Moreover, this save data can only be used with the party members and party composition chosen when first entering the Palace of the Dead.
Matched Party
Similar to the Duty Finder, players may choose to be randomly matched with other players on the same data center. Matched parties will always be comprised of four players. When registering with less than four players, any open party slots will be filled automatically.

Entering as a Matched Party
After speaking with the Wood Wailer expeditionary, select “Enter the Palace of the Dead,” then choose an unused save slot. Next, select “Enter with a matched party.” All future forays into the Palace of the Dead must be done with the class or job chosen when first registering.
Party Composition
Players in matched parties are free to choose any composition of jobs and classes they desire. It is not necessary to register with the same players each time. However, you must use the class or job you selected when first registering as a matched party.
Save Data
Your character’s level, aetherpool arm and armor strength, and floor progression data will be saved.
Resuming Play
Players will be matched with party members who have the same floor progression saved. In order to be matched, players must enter with the same class or job that was equipped when progression was first saved. Furthermore, aetherpool weapons and gear strength must be above the requisite for the given floor.

Players can join a party in progress by first checking the “Join Party in Progress” box in the Duty Finder menu, then speaking with the Wood Wailer expeditionary.
* Character level may be adjusted when joining a party in progress.

Progression

Moving to the Lower Floors
Parties progress to lower floors by activating the Cairn of Passage stones. These stones have three phases, and will always be inactive when arriving at a new floor. Players must defeat the enemies that appear on the floor before the stone can be fully activated. As the phases progress, the color of the stone’s icon on the map will change, and the perimeter around the stone will glow when it becomes fully activated.
Resurrection
In addition to resurrection items and actions, players can use a Cairn of Return to raise all KO’d players. These stones, like the Cairn of Passage, have three phases of activation and can only be used when fully activated. The stone will be inactive when arriving at a new floor. Players must defeat the enemies that appear on the floor before the stone can be fully activated. As the phases progress, the color of the stone’s icon on the map will change, and the stone itself will glow when it becomes fully activated.
Traps and Floor Effects
As players progress, they will arrive at floors with traps that will be set off when walked across. These traps are invisible unless a player has a special item which can reveal their locations. In addition to traps, some floors have the below effects which may benefit or provide some challenge to the player’s ability to progress:

Status Effects
Some floors may inflict detrimental or beneficial statuses on players.
Prohibited Magic or Special Actions
Some floors may prohibit certain actions.
Floor Effect: Gloom
Some floors may have strengthened enemies.
Navigation Map
A special navigation map will be displayed, which can be used to progress through the rooms on a given floor. When any party member enters a room on the floor, the map will automatically update. The icons for the Cairn of Return and the Cairn of Passage will appear in their location on the map.
* Players can display or hide the map by pressing the M key. This is the same key for the Hold button to lock the map in position.
* The default navigational map will not be displayed in the Palace of the Dead.
IconDescriptionCairn of Passage is inactiveCairn of Passage is nearing activationCairn of Passage is activatedCairn of Return is inactiveCairn of Return is nearing activationCairn of Return is activated
Treasure Coffers
There are three types of treasure coffers which will randomly appear somewhere on the floor at the same time as enemies. While most of these coffers will give players various benefits, some will have traps, such as surprise enemy attacks.

Gold Coffers
Gold Coffers may yield pomanders. The coffer will remain even if these items already exceed the inventory limit.
Silver Coffers
Silver Coffers will strengthen aetherpool arms and armor. However, opening these coffers will have no effect if the players’ weapons and gear are at their maximum level of strength. In addition, even if players’ weapons and gear are not at maximum level, there is a possibility that the strengthening effects will not take hold even after opening the coffer. Weapons (including shields), and gear will be strengthened individually, and depending on the player.
Bronze Coffers
Bronze Coffers may yield normal items such as potions or Gelmorran potsherds which can be exchanged for special items.
Leaving the Palace of the Dead
If all party members are KO’d inside the Palace of the Dead, they will be removed from the instance.
* Unlike other dungeons, players cannot choose to return to the floor entrance if they are KO’d.

Management of Save Data
Players can manage their save data by talking with the Wood Wailer expeditionary located in the South Shroud at Quarrymill (X:25.2 Y:20.6).

Resetting Progress
Players can reset their level and progression to floor 1. However, aetherpool arm and armor strength will carry over to the new file. This means players can reset and return to floor 1 to continue strengthening their weapons and gear if they have found that previous progression became too difficult.
* Reset save data cannot be recovered.
Disbanding a Fixed Party
Players can convert fixed party saved data to matched party saved data. Aetherpool arm and armor strength will be carried over, but pomander information will be reset. Under these conditions you will be able to be matched with other players who are currently playing on the same floor as you.
* If any members of a fixed party are unable to enter the Deep Dungeon after the deletion of save data or usage of the World transfer service, they must select “Disband your fixed party.” to carry over their save data.

FFXIV: Old Rose Breed Guide

Since Patch 3.3 it is possible to grow roses in a private or FC house.

For planting roses you require:
* a house (or room in a FC house)
* a planting pot
* soil for planting
* rose seed
* color changing fertilizer / Fishmeal

Planting pots can be acquired at any Housing Merchant in the 3 living quarters (Mist, Goblet, Lavender Bed) – Lavender = Gridanian Pot, Goblet = Oasis Pot, Mist = Riviera Pot.
Any house can have any of these – it’s just style 🙂
A small house can have 2 pots, medium 3, large 4.

Soils for planting: G1/2/3 Thanalan/Shroud/Noscean Soil – can be obtained by Mining or Mining Retainers (since 3.0 als possible to get G3 Soils through retainers).

The old rose seeds can be bought at any Material Supplier in the 3 living quarters (Mist, Goblet, Lavender Bed) – not in houses!
If you buy the seeds it is recommended to already buy the fertilizer that is able to change the soil. There are 3 kinds for blue, yellow and red.

What to do now?
First you put the pots into the house.
After that you can use the soil and the seed to plant the rose. It is red by default.
Now your breeding can start – using the color fertilizers. Fishmeal will speed up the production. Without that, the rose will be done in 24h. With it, of course a bit sooner. But there is no rush, really.
Please note: ONE Fertilizer per hour. If you use a color change you can’t use Fishmeal within the next hour and vice versa.

My tries so far:
Yellow Rose: Yellow Fertilizer
Blue Rose: Blue Fertilizer / Blue + Blue + Yellow Fertilizer (I messed this up as I wanted to put in one red and misclicked for a blue)
Orange Rose: Yellow + Red Fertilizer
Green Rose: Blue + Yellow Fertilizer
Purple Rose: Blue + Red Fertilizer
Rainbow Rose: Blue + Red + Yellow Fertilizer / Blue + Red + Yellow + Red Fertilizer (red unusual)
White Rose: Blue + Red + Yellow + Red + Yellow Fertilizer (orange unusual)
Black Rose: Blue + Red + Yellow + Red + Blue Fertilizer (Purple unusual) / Blue + Red + Yellow + Yellow + Blue Fertilizer (green unusual)

G3 Shroud Soil is giving a chance to receive 2 instead of 1 rose.

—-
I am using my own small house + small FC house to breed 4 roses/day (since 2 days ago – before that I used one pot for that in my house only, the other being used for Voiddrake and Althyk Lavender). I bought an FC room to get 2 additional pots. (I got plans with all those flowers but won’t reveal what I will use them for yet 🙂 )
My twink’s medium FC house has 3 pots and grows Voiddrake and Althyk at the moment.
Right now that’s 9 soils/day excluding my other gardening projects (growing cross breeds @private house and shard seeds @ fc house).
It really helps to have at least 1 Mining Retainer to get the G3 soils – I am leveling a 2nd retainer right now to help with that 🙂

FFXIV: Retainer Information

This post will be solely created by a request of a company member of mine 🙂

What is a Retainer?
An NPC *lol what else* that can be hired to store (up to 175 items) and sell items (max. 20 items) as well as being able to take a job and obtain job-related items.
The system grants access to 2 retainers after finishing the main story quest “The Scions of the Seventh Dawn”.
It is possible to acquire up to 6 more retainers through the Mog Station (this costs real money!).

How to obtain a Retainer?
After finishing the quest mentioned above you need to talk to a Retainer Vocate (they do have names but the tag for Retainer Vocate is shown directly below their name) in any of the four big cities (Gridania, Limsa, Ul’dah, Ishgard). There you will have several options:

  • Hire a Retainer – Bitch please! Your first step to create your very own “slave” 😛 This will lead to a character creation menu to choose race, tribe, appearance. After this you can choose from 6 behaviors. Lastly choose the name of your retainer (only first name required).
  • Dispatch Retainer to (city name) – This can be changed at any given time. Your first retainer will be dispatched to the city you register it in (basically the one you are a company member of). So if you are a member of the Serpents, you talk to the NPC in Gridania and your retainer will be selling in Gridania. If you want to change the city state you need to go to any of the other 3 to change this.
  • Release a Retainer – This is your way to say “Go to hell bitch”. Instant delete of your retainer.
  • Ask about Retainers – Your FAQ for the basics of retainers.
  • Inquire about Retainer jobs– Buy a Job Scroll for retainers for 40 Ventures each. Hint: You can only have ONE Job Scroll in your inventory at a time.
  • View Market Tax Rates – Shows the tax rates of the city you are in right now. Every item you want to sell will be taxed.
Hint: As a buyer you can avoid paying taxes simply by teleporting to the related city the retainer you buy items from. You will know by checking the symbol next to the name of the retainer selling items.
Yellow = Gridania, Red = Limsa, Brown = Uldah, Blue = Ishgard.
(E.G.: A retainer sells in Gridania, you are located in Limsa. Price of item is 1000 gil. Tax is 5%. The system will add 5% tax based on your location to retainer’s location = 50 gil. So you pay 1050 gil for the item. While if you buy it in Gridania you pay 1000 gil. Of course in this case there might be a more expensive teleport fee for this (if you don’t have the free teleport or Home) but with items which are more valuable you can avoid to pay too much fee 🙂
This is an example and does not reflect any server’s real tax fees!)

How to access a Retainer?
Summoning Bell. Summoning Bell. Summoning Bell!
Talk to your lovely slave through that and see brand-new options to choose from:

  • Entrust or withdraw items – Your new storage for 175 items, including untradeable items, and shards, crystals and clusters.
Since Patch 3.2 it is possible to directly sell items through a retainer (instead of searching for the next NPC you can sell useless items to). If you did sell a wrong item you will have the “Item Buyback” option as a 3rd option in your retainers menu. Please be aware that you can not buy back items when you closed the retainer menu.
  • Entrust or withdraw gil – Your new storage for money. You can also withdraw money for items that your retainer sold on the market.
  • Item Buyback – Only available when you sold an item through your retainer. This option will disappear as soon as you closed the retainer’s menu.
  • Sell items in your inventory on the market – Self-explaining huh? 🙂 Also shows the list of current items for sale. Max. 20 items possible.
  • Sell items in your retainer’s inventory on the market – Self-explaining again? 🙂 Also shows the list of current items for sale. Max. 20 items possible.
  • View sale history – You can check which item was sold for which price (after taxes) and who bought it.
  • View venture report – You can check the status of the current venture the retainer is put on.
  • Assign venture – Requires a Retainer Venture. A retainer can go on a trip to get materials for you.
Hunting / Mining / Botany / Fishing Exploration – Basic option. Sends out retainer to gain a specific item which you need to have received yourself through fighting or gathering. This is timed to 40 – 60 minutes.
Field / Highland / Woodland / Waterside Exploration – Timed to 18 hours. Received results are randomized depending on the chosen exploration rank.
Quick Exploration – Available after you reached level 10 with a retainer. Brings a random item and EXP depending on the item gained.
Each of the above options will cost a certain amount of Ventures.
  • View Retainer attributes and gear – This opens a character menu where you can equip your retainer.
  • Reset Retainer class – You can choose a class for your retainer. Please note that you can only choose classes you learned yourself. The retainer can only be as high in level as you are in this very class.
  • Quit – Leave your retainer’s menu (this will also send your retainer back to the market to sell).

How do you gain access to the Venture System?
Depending on your company you will need to complete either of the following quests:
An Ill-conceived Venture (Gridania)
An Ill-conceived Venture (Limsa)
An Ill-conceived Venture (Ul’dah)
Each one of them are given by the Troubled Adventurer in each of the cities.
After completion you can send out your retainer on ventures – as long as you chose a class for your retainer.
The interface will add certain new options:

  • Number of remaining ventures
  • View venture report
  • Assign venture
  • View retainer attributes and gear
  • Assign retainer class

How to obtain Ventures?
There are various ways to do so:
Guildhests, buying with company seals or hunt seals or tribe seals, rewards from tribe quests, …

How to assign a class to your Retainer?
Choose a class (Disciple of Magic or War or Land or Hand) for your retainer and equip a main weapon (level 1). Your retainer can go on ventures as soon as you did this.
Please note that you only can choose a class that you learned yourself.
You can change the chosen class at any time.

Which gear should you equip to your Retainer?
The best possible for its basic level 🙂 Some ventures can not be accessed if you don’t have the right Item Level.
Gear durability is not affected by wearing items. Spiritbonding proceeds at a very slow rate compared to if a player would wear the gear.

How to change the appearance of your Retainer?
Retainer Fantasia. This is an item you can receive when sending your retainer on a Quick Exploration. With this item you can change the appearance, race, tribe and gender of your retainer. You could also rename your buddy.
Talk to the Retainer Vocate in any city after using the item.
Steps to appearance change: Get a Retainer Fantasia – use it – talk to a Retainer Vocate and follow the steps given by the NPC.

How to add a job to your Retainer?
With the release of Patch 3.2 there is the possibility to assign jobs to your retainers. This is however only possible for the Disciples of War and Magic (we don’t have “jobs” for Gathering and Crafting because well… these ARE jobs 😛 ).
The retainer must be level 30+ and the player itself must be level 50+ in their respective class/job to be able to get the job.
Also the jobs Dark Knight, Machinist and Astrologian were added to the choice pool. The retainer must be level 50+ in any class and the player must have obtained level 50+ of the chosen class.
Buy a Job Scroll for 40 Ventures from any Retainer Vocate and talk to your retainer to add the desired job in the menu (you can only have ONE Job Scroll in your inventory so if you want to change more then one retainer, you need to repeat this – thankfully the Vocate is close to a Bell in every city).
This will then add a job crystal to the retainers equipment declaring it to have the assigned job and you can equip the job equip now.
E.G.: A Level 60 Archer is now a legit Level 60 Bard.
Reason for doing this?
1. Higher item level (might be required sooner or later for new ventures – take the hint)
2. Equip the stuff that you can not desynthesize or spend to gain company seals \0/
3. LOOKS! 😛 Kidding. Although most specified job gear do look awesome~

FFXIV: All About Chocobo

At some point it was obvious that this post would come – no? 😀 I love my bugger and there is so much information about chocobos that are barely in one post somewhere so I kind of want to put it on my blog (where at least a few people can find and share it)

Chocobos are tall birds that are used for transportation and riding in the Final Fantasy universe. Their first appearance was in Final Fantasy II.
Chocobos are usually yellow, while FFXIV has the feature to feed different food to color them from a wide Red, Yellow, Blue, Green Spectre.

In the early beginning of FFXIV Chocobos were used to transport players.
First only NPC Chocobos were available while a quest enabled Lv30 players to ride an own chocobo (a Chocobo Whistle needs to be obtained with the respective company the player is with)
As soon as a player obtained the whistle, an NPC enabled the usage of the own chocobo – including the naming of it.

Barding:
Chocobos are “naked” when received.
They can wear different bardings such as company bardings, special obtained or crafted bardings.

An overview of bardings that can be achieved (sorted by name):

  • Barding of Light (Veteran reward): A suit of chocobo armor designed to resemble a legendary warrior of the Light.
  • Behemoth Barding (Behemoth Horn Exchange): A suit of chocobo armor designed to resemble a ferocious behemoth.
  • Blackmage Barding (Veteran reard): An expertly crafted suit of aether-infused chocobo armor, designed to mimic the garb of the black mages of days past.
  • Eerie Barding (Seasonal Event): An expertly crafted suit of aether-infused chocobo armor, designed to mimic the garb of the black mages of days past.
  • Egg Harness (Seasonal Event): An egg-themed chocobo harness created in celebration of Hatching-tide.
  • Gridanian Barding (Company): A full plate suit of Twin Adder-issue chocobo armor.
  • Gridanian Crested Barding (Company): An elaborately decorated suit of Twin Adder-issue chocobo armor.
  • Gridanian Half Barding (Company): A lightweight suit of Twin Adder-issue chocobo armor.
  • Levin Barding (Craft): A suit of chocobo armor designed to resemble Ramuh, the Lord of Levin.
  • Lominsan Barding (Company): A full plate suit of Maelstrom-issue chocobo armor.
  • Lominsan Crested Barding (Company): An elaborately decorated suit of Maelstrom-issue chocobo armor.
  • Lominsan Half Barding (Company): A lightweight suit of Maelstrom-issue chocobo armor.
  • Plumed Barding (Achievement): A suit of chocobo armor adorned with brilliant plumage. This particular design is quite popular amongst chocobo enthusiasts.
  • Sleipnir Barding (Odin Mantle Exchange): A suit of pitch-black chocobo armor designed to resemble that worn by the legendary steed of the elder primal Odin.
  • Sovereign Barding (Achievement): A suit of chocobo armor designed to resemble that of a chocobo king of legend.
  • Starlight Barding (Seasonal Event): A suit of chocobo armor as worn by those legendary birds said to carry gifts from the stars.
  • Tidal Barding (Craft): A suit of chocobo armor designed to resemble Leviathan, the Lord of the Whorl.
  • Ul’Dahn Barding (Company): A full plate suit of Immortal Flame-issue chocobo armor.
  • Ul’Dahn Crested Barding (Company): An elaborately decorated suit of Immortal Flames-issue chocobo armor.
  • Ul’Dahn Half Barding (Company): A lightweight suit of Immortal Flame-issue chocobo armor.
  • Chocobo level related barding: Tank, Attacker, Healer are obtained when leveling each class to lv10

Summoning the Chocobo:

Chocobos could be summoned as a mount or a fight companion.
As a mount: You ride it, Genius.
As companion in battle it gained experience.
The chocobo itself is always synced to the players level but gains its own EXP for skill levels.

Leveling the Chocobo:

Chocobos could only gain EXP in fights until this was made easier with implementation of the chocobo stable at houses (free company or private houses).
Now they can be trained once/hour with Krakka Roots by the owner and another player (which is actually twice/hour).

They gain EXP based on their level and stable quality while feeding – in fights that depends upon the level of monsters.
Chocobos will never gain experience on monsters that are 10 level+ below the players level.

Feeding a chocobo in the stable  until the EXP bar is full is possible, but chocobos can not level up in the stable if they are below lv10!

If you got a chocobo below Lv10, you need to get it out for at least 1 monster kill so the chocobo can level up.
If the chocobo is lv10+ you need to feed a Thavnairian Onion each time the cap of EXP is reached to reset to the next level and give already a few EXP.
*** Please note: If you feed it before that happens it will be consumed as a normal Krakka Root (a pop-up message will tell you that this will happen so you don’t waste the precious onion). ***

Food to improve Chocobo EXP:

  • Curiel Root
  • Krakka Root
  • Thavnairian Onion (Raises level cap after lv10  gives EXP on new level)

*** Please note that the quality of a stable affects the amount of EXP earned so try to keep it as clean as possible. ***

Skill Trees:

The player can choose from three skill types are available: Tank, Healer, Attacker.
Each of these skill trees can be maxed out to 10 ranks each. Ranks will be obtained when the chocobo raises in level.

Hereby it does not matter if you prefer an “all points in one” or hybrid. However: If you want to have a skill’s barding, you need to max out a skill tree.
(My own chocobo was a hybrid until lv10 – with most points in attack, lv5 heal and lv3 tank. Before I switched him to a lv10 healer to obtain the barding and went on with attacker.)

A chocobo can learn 30 skills in total.
Any skill learned needs to be learned in order, e.g. it is impossible to teach a chocobo immediately a lv10 skill – a player needs to level up the respective skill tree first.

A chocobo earns a skill point/level up to lv10 (lv1 -1, lv2 -2, etc). After lv10 it is 10 points/level (as far as I can tell – my own is now Lv12, on its way to 13).
A level 10 chocobo has 55 skill points. A level 20 chocobo has 165 points (you can max out every class with this and obtain all of the 3 bardings).
*** At this point I’d like to thank my guildie Mizo Koala (Phoenix) for pointing out that it is possible to obtain all 3 skill bardings when keeping on leveling the chocobo ***

Is it possible to respec the chocobo? Yes. You can buy the item Reagan Pepper with alliance seals (obtained by hunting dailies/weekly/ hunt mobs).

Food to improve skill tree specs:

  • Mimett Gourd (Increases your chocobo companion’s healing magic potency.)
  • Pahsana Fruit (Increases your chocobo companion’s enmity.)
  • Reagan Pepper (Resets all of a chocobo’s SP.)
  • Sylkis Bud (Increases your chocobo companion’s attack potency.)
  • Tantalplant (Increases your chocobo companion’s maximum HP.)

Appearance:

Chocobos are desert yellow by nature.
However it is possible to color the feathers when feeding different fruits to them – this is only possible in a stable at a house.
The color changes depend on: Fruits fed and quality of stable.

Each fruit has a color code of 3. There are 6 types of color changing fruits and 1 reset fruit.
All fruits can be obtained with alliance seals.

Available fruits:

  • Cieldalaes Pineapple (Less Blue)
  • Doman Plum (Less Red)
  • Valfruit (Less Green)
  • O’Ghomoro Berry (More Blue)
  • Xelphatol Apple (More Red)
  • Mamook Peer (More Green)
  • Han Lemon (Restores to default Desert Yellow color)

Desert Yellow has a RGB (Red Green Blue) code of: 216, 175, 80

Colors vary from snow white to soot black with different shades of yellow, green, blue, red. An overview can be checked here.

When feeding a fruit, it might show a message: “XXX grows new feathers” (or something similar).
This message can be shown repeatedly after feeding more fruits but it will just mark that a new color is available – It does not mean that the chocobo jumps more than one color. This, of course, depends on amount and kind of fruit which were fed.
The stable quality (meaning: how clean it is) also plays a part in this as a higher quality has an impact on how fast you will obtain the feather change message (proven! Chocobos tend to need more fruit for feather growing when the stable is not as its best, eg: Ul Brown ticks after feeding 3 blue berries when stable quality is good but needs more than 5 when quality is poor.).

After feeding the chocobo needs to rest for 6 hours in the stable. If you remove it in that time, the change (and fruits fed) is lost.

*** Although a certain amount of fruits needs to be fed to obtain a color, some colors can not be achieved in one feeding session.*** This is not yet proven by myself as I took breaks in between too to check the colors/grow more color plants. ***

That basically covers everything about the chocobo – if anything is forgotten, please leave a comment so I can add it 🙂

Of course this post will be updated with further patch changes.
