Dog Power

I love plush things… especially if I can get them not only by “go into a store and buy them”.
My new little 2 cuties are from my grocery store. Not because I just bought them, but with a bit of effort.

The shop I usually visit for buying groceries has a promo running at the moment (until the 16th of March, I think) – in co-op with a charity something… can’t remember.
For every 10 € you get 1 “Spaarzegel”, every week there’ll be some products on sale that earn additional 1-2 “Spaarzegel”.
You need a card with 12 “Spaarzegels” (you get 2 as a gift: 1 from the shop and 1 from the charity, so you need 10 additionally) and 3,99 € to receive a dog (which is usually 9,99 €).
There are 6 different dog plushies: Basset, Bulldog, Cocker Spaniel, Dalmatian, Papillon, Pug dog.

I started gathering and I had 9 seals, when I went to shop groceries last Saturday. The family in front of me doesn’t collect them, so I got asked if I want them – I was so happy. There were a lot of seals they could’ve gotten and I took 2 additional cards home with the seals of the family and my own… I could fill my first card and an additional card… the 3rd card was missing one seal to be full.

I went to shop today and to get my first 2 dog plushies. I also retrieved the missing seal for my 3rd one *yay* which I will pick up the next time I need to shop for groceries (maybe Monday or so). I got a Bulldog and a Cocker Spaniel:

MLP Blind Bag Addiction

Hah. The last time I bought some blind bag ponies was… November.
As some sites say there’s already 2 more additional series I went to check in December – found nothing but series V ponies (the yellow bags known as the princess edition).
So as I got holidays at the moment I went to check again… and found some! Woooooooohoooooooooo!

I took 3 random bags and luckily I got the 2 ponies I really wanted: Minuette and Magnet Bolt! (and another G4 Rarity)
(I know the trick with the numbers, of course, but wasn’t really into getting some of this series, but thought I want to as I finally found them! I’m more looking forward for the Wonderbolt series.)

What I Am Watching

This season certainly had a lot to offer… of some series I saw 1-2 episodes, some I followed up to episode 5 or 6 to know if I drop it or keep watching…
so here’s my list of anime of the actual season I will keep on watching.

Short animes (5 minutes):

  • Senyuu. (absolute favorite :D)
  • Puchimas! (second favorite)
  • Mangirl!
  • Yama no Musume

All of those except for Puchimas! are weekly releases. Puchimas airs from Sunday to Thursday, Friday they do Specials with the actresses whatsoever.

  • Chihayafuru 2
  • Love Live! School Idol Project
  • Maoyuu Maou Yuusha
  • Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuru So Desu yo?
  • Kotoura-san
  • Cuticle Detective Inaba
  • Boku Ha Tomodachi Ga Sukunai NEXT
  • Hakkenden: Toho Hakken Ibun
  • Minami-ke 4 – Tadaima
  • Amnesia
  • Straight Title Robot Anime

That’s my importance ranking for watching. Chihayafuru made me aware of how much I like unusual sport, e.g. Kyudo, and i was waiting for soooo long for the second series~ (therefore I watch it last –  to raise my excitement level :D)

  • Ai-Mai-Mi
  • Ishida to Asakura
  • OreShura
  • Sasami-san@Ganbaranai

I dropped all except OreShura meanwhile or after the first episode. OreShura got dropped after episode 5.

Still running from last season(s):

  • Shinsekai Yori
  • Little Busters!
  • Magi
  • Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojou
  • Fairy Tail
  • Robotic; Notes
  • Hunter X Hunter
  • One Piece
  • Saki: Episode of Girl-A (one episode every whatever-weeks)
  • Naruto Shippuuden
  • Ixion Saga
  • Folktales from Japan

Again sorted by my personal level of “how much do I like the story” 🙂

In total that’s roughly 11 hours of animes per week :p

My Picture Made It On A Sale’s Site

As I am a My Little Pony fan and got some merchandise, which photo’s I published on Facebook, the shop owner asked me if it would be okay to set my picture as reference on their homepage. This is a picture of the 3 products I bought since December (messenger bag Rainbow Dash, backpack Twilight parkle, fleece blanket Twilight Sparkle) together with my Blind Bag Pony Collection. You can find the picture here.

Review: Sword of the Stranger (Sutorenjia Mukōhadan, Stranger Mukō Hadan)

Or: From listening to a song to watching the movie.

There’s one song in my playlist (“Ihojin no Yaiba”) which gives me goosebumps each time I listen to it. It’s from the movie “Sword of the Stranger” and yesterday night I finally watched it.

What’s it about?
A young boy named Kotarou and his dog Tobimaru (a lovely Shiba Inu by the way) are hunted by Chinese warriors of the Ming dynasty as they need the boy (born once in a hundred years) for their ritual to obtain the essence of immortality. Among the group is a western fighter named Luo-Lang, whose desire for a worthy opponent is stronger than his desire to follow the Emperor’s orders. While Kotaro and Tobimaru are on the run they meet Nanashi, a nameless ronin who gets hired by Kotaro to guarantee the boy’s safety.
In the beginning both don’t trust each other and their bond is soon challenged due to the assaults of the Chinese warriors.

I don’t want to spoil too much of the story, but I really liked the movie for all the Japanese and Chinese aspects and the well-balanced fighting scenes. Mostly in anime movies one side is over-powered until a miracle happens – not in this movie (or at least I didn’t felt it).
I also appreciated the main theme of the movie being repeated in various style through the whole movie at specifically chosen scenes – especially the last fight between Luo-Lang and Nanashi: “Ihojin no Yaiba”.

I’d recommend this movie to people who like fighting movies with influence of both Japanese and Chinese styles. Although some might find it boring at some parts, but it’s definitely worth watching.

Being Sick

….sucks. Everyone knows this.

I am sick since November. Kind of.
It started with heart burn, I felt like crap, puked up acid and went to the doc. I got medicine for 4 weeks.
I felt better 4 days after starting the medication and even when I was out of the medic by the beginning of January, but 5 days after the heart burn returned and stayed for over 24 hours – I wasn’t able to sleep well, went back to the doctor and got back on the medication.
2 weeks everything went well, but after that the symptoms returned and I felt stomach pain as well.
I tried to get rid of that with warmth and massages, it helped a bit.
The stomach pain got worse when I got off the medication, the heart burn was gone (finally), but now I had pressure in my throat and above my stomach area. I went back to the doc, got the medicine again and he sent me to a specialist in the local hospital. I’ll have my first appointment on Tuesday, the second on Tuesday in 2 weeks.

For all who don’t want to read disgusting things: YOU SHOULD STOP READING HERE!

I felt fine… until Friday. Hell broke loose. I couldn’t sleep well, I was sweating, woke up a lot. In the morning I had a headache, my neck hurt and my stomach felt like a jumping ball. I took an Ibuprofen (medicine for pain) went to work, but also told the person in charge of me about it. He told me to go home to rest. I withstood the pain for 1 hour and 40 minutes and went home where I immediately spent 15 minutes on the toilet with diarrhea. After that I went on my sofa, trying to rest and watching Tv for the rest of the day. I drank a lot of tea, ate white bread and was running to the toilet nearly once per hour.

After a horrible night (of going to the toilet 4-5 times) and sweating a lot again, I discovered that I wasn’t only having fluid but yellow (non-smelly) poop. *Yumyumyum* So I googled a bit (silly stuff to do when you’re sick, but nonetheless I do it sometimes to be aware of what I could have and how to get rid of it) and than finally checked something I should’ve checked already the day before – my medicine’s description. There I found it:

Vaak voorkomende bijwerkingen […] Maagdarmproblemen; diarree, maagpijn, verstopping, winderigheid (flatulentie)

Vaak means 1 person out of between 10 and 100.
Stomach/guts Problems, diarrhea, stomach pain, costiveness, flatulence. A hit for all of these in the last 2-3 weeks, especially the last 2 days. Lucky me?

Yesterday night I didn’t took the medicine. I slept so-so, running out 4 times, sweating. I went shopping groceries and bought a bottle of cola (which doesn’t gets near my usual things to buy normally). I went to the toilet when I came back from the shopping and drank a glass of cola. Luckily for now I didn’t need to visit the toilet for ~2 hours, which is amazing.

Why cola? Because it’s one of the secrets of house medicine. If you don’t have yoghurt or medicine to disrupt the guts activity you go for… bananas and cola. I have both things now and hopefully I’ll get rid of the nasty yellow fluid.
